Alfalfa Productivity Potential: a Better Understanding for 2008
While we typically evaluate alfalfa stands in late April and early May, this has been a slowly developing growing season in most parts of the state. Most decisions have been made as to the keeping or destroying of individual alfalfa fields based on stand and yield potential for the upcoming year. However, there is still information to be gathered to identify production problems and causes.

Soybean Rust Overwintering Status in Southern US
Since its discovery in North America, each season’s experience with Soybean rust has been different. At the conclusion of the 2007 season, soybean rust was detected as field infections farther north and west, reaching Iowa in September and its first field infection reported on Sept 28.
