and Glyphosate-resistant Biotypes

Glyphosate-resistant biotypes of giant and common ragweed and common waterhemp have been confirmed in Minnesota and are listed on the International Survey of Resistant Weeds web site.

Alfalfa Weevil:  Coming on Strong in West Central MN
Just a quick note to report a significant outbreak of alfalfa weevil in WC MN.  It escalated over the weekend with a lot of spraying starting on Monday.

Soybean Rust:  What will this year bring?
Soybean rust was found in 392 counties in the United States in 2008. This is the highest number of counties reporting the disease since it was first discovered in the continental U.S. in 2004.

Minnesota Pest Report
The Minnesota Pest Report is a weekly newsletter summarizing important trends in pest abundances. The report has been available several years and can be accessed on-line.

Plants Commonly Found in Established Minnesota Horse Pastures
Pasture weed control is a challenge for most horse owners. The objectives of this publication are to aid horse owners in identification of nonpoisonous weeds and desirable pasture species commonly found in established Minnesota horse pastures and to offer weed control options.
