Northwest Research & Outreach Center

Dr. Albert Sims

My interest in agriculture stemmed from being raised on a small livestock and grain farm in central Nebraska.  When it became apparent that farming would not be part of my future, I worked on farms and ag related industries for a few years before finally attended college. I earned my Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science in Agronomy with an emphasis in Soil Science from the University of Nebraska.  I earned my Doctorate in Soil Science from the North Carolina State University. Following the PhD degree I did post-doctorate work with the USDA-ARS in Lincoln, Nebraska. I arrived in Crookston and the Northwest Research and Outreach Center in the summer of 1995.
