Are you looking for something different to do this summer that is outside and does not involve flipping hamburgers?  We have two openings for high school or college students that are interested in working outdoors, like biology, and wonder what applied agricultural research entails. You'll be involved in the maintenance and harvesting of research trials in wheat, barley, oats, and rye at the Northwest Research & Outreach Center and locations across northwest Minnesota.  You will assist with notetaking, sample processing, setup & maintaining irrigation systems and data collection. Pay starts at $15.00 per hour.

Soils & Water- Lindsay Pease ([email protected] )

Learn about agricultural nutrient management by being a part of local research! Help collect soil, water, and plant biomass samples with our team. This paid position can count towards internship credits and is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience for anyone interested in agronomy, natural resources, environmental science, or related fields. The summer is mostly spent in the field but also involves sample analysis for anyone interested in learning laboratory techniques as well.  Please reach out with questions to Heidi Reitmeier at [email protected]
